Decent keyboard

RGB is configurable which is an excellent start. It is also very responsive and I cannot notice any lag. The keys are really well sized making it comfy to use.All RGB colours are defined well. It’s very versatile with the web driver to allow compatibility with most operating systems. The price is very reasonable for the quality and configuration possibilities (time of review £70).

This keyboard looks and feels incredible. Its green transparent top actually has RGB lighting (I didn't expect it). I also love the green black design, although I think making the WASD keys green would make it even better. It's very thick, heavy and has no flex. Despite it being almost the size of a 60% keyboard, it still has keys like Delete, Pg Up and Pg Dn. However, it lacks other keys I often use like Prtsc, Home and End. You don't realize how much you use them until they are gone. The biggest issue is I don't see function combos labelled on the keys to get them back. I suspect one would have to install their software to program them as a macro.Note that Attack Shark doesn't have a unified software package. Each keyboard has it's own software that doesn't seem to get updates post product launch. So when the next keyboard comes out, this one is basically EOL.The magnetic switches makes a very satisfying thock as you type. They are linear with minimal actuation force and travel. So it is ideal for FPS gaming. I really appreciate the volume dial on the side so it doesn't require me to do some Fn combo to change it. I also like the proper sized arrow keys that aren't squished nor irregularly spaced like other compact keyboards. It also has RGB backlighting but the lettering on the keys aren't shine through. So in the dark, the keys appear pitch black which makes it a bit pointless in my opinion. The keyboard is wired only and has a right angle USB-C cable that plugs into the side for a clean look. It also comes with a keycap remover and what looks like a handstrap that I have no use for.Overall, this is a decent gaming keyboard if you can live with some missing keys and don't plan on using their software.

Lacks a number pad, but works better for gaming as now I have more room to move my mouse.Worked instantly when attached to my PC when using the provided "USB to Type-C port" cable. The keyboard uses the type-c port. The colors are great, even in daylight. Has a lot of functions and color changes.I really like the volume knob located on the side.I wish it clicked just a bit more, but that's entirely personal preference. It does click, but not as cleanly as I'm used to. I’ve attached a video of what it sounds like when typing.

StraightUp Reviews

This ATTACK SHARK R85 Gaming Keyboard is a very cool keyboard. It is RGB and has customizable magnetic switches. It is a 75% keyboard so it is a good size and fits well on my desk. I also like the feel of the keyboard, it is smooth yet still clicky. It is wired, ideally I prefer wireless.

This keyboard feels amazing to type on — super smooth and responsive! The Hall Effect switches are fast and quiet, and the overall build quality feels solid. The RGB lighting looks awesome, and the compact 75% layout saves a lot of desk space without sacrificing important keys. The only downside is that it’s wired. It would’ve been perfect if it had a wireless option, especially for keeping the desk setup cleaner. Still, for a wired keyboard, it performs really well and feels premium.Definitely worth it if you don’t mind the cable!

This keyboard is amazing! First of all, the sound is amazing. It’s clicky while also maintaining a pretty quiet profile. You know exactly when the key is pressed down, and is super smooth and consistent. It’s the perfect amount of travel too. The 75% size is perfect for me as it can be portable and is just really comfortable to use without having to stretch. If you need a num pad, you could always buy an external one. The lighting is also super cool, with a few different modes. It’s evenly spread, and the light at on the back looks amazing. There is also a programmable dial which by default is set to volume. The keyboard comes with a cable, instruction manual, a key remover, and a few other things. The only thing I would want that this doesn’t have is wireless connectivity. Other than that, it’s 10/10!

I was leaning toward 4 stars, but honestly for the price and with some of the previous Attack Shark keyboard experiences that I've had, 5 start seems appropriate. It's genuinely a decent product of good quality and overall nice features that you don't get on every board. The typing feel and sound are generally nice, a little hollow/cheap feeling on the space bar. The key caps are a little slick compared to what I'm used to, but that could just be an adjustment I haven't quite hit yet.RGB brightness is more than satisfactory, and the side script on the keycaps is a nice touch that makes the board feel more premium to me. It has top tier specs that checked out for me testing in Fortnite. The footprint is not wide at all for an 85 key board, but do be aware it's a little taller than average due to the strip at the top that also has RGB. The side scroll knob is a cool feature and I love the aesthetic of that as well.Overall, it's a solid package that doesn't feel or look as cheap as expected, and for that it gets 5 stars.

For the money, this thing is incredible. The keys feel great, and it's got decent build quality. The switches wobble less than Cherry MX switches and the spacebar has ZERO wobble. It's solid. The keycaps are also thick PBT and should last a while without glossing. The board will also take regular Cherry MX style keycaps if you want to change them.My only complaint is that the software isn't the greatest UI, but it works fine.I bought this to try a hall effect keyboard before purchasing a much more expensive one. I'll just keep this one until it breaks, which hopefully won't be anytime soon.I got it for $70 with a mouse included as a promo. Seriously a steal at this price for how good it is.

I bought it when it was on sale for 61 canadian dollars. Even the non sale price looks good to me, considering the features, the design, and the layout (i dont like 60% keyboards).VERY IMPORTANT!: I recommend you to use the actual website to download the software from attack shark, instead of the ones the bitly link they provide here on amazon (IT GIVES ME A WARNING WHEN I TRY TO OPEN IT, SO I WILL NOT BE USING IT.) Search up "ATTACK SHARK R85 HE driver" and look for the attack shark website, then hover your mouse on the "HE KEYBOARD" on top, then press the "R85 HE SERIES" then after that, scroll down a bit and you will see the "downloads" section where you can download the "ATTACKSHARK R85HE software". DO NOT use the web browser version because its glitchy (at least in my experience)I have had two hall effect/rapid trigger keyboard before this, which were the madlions mad60he and the ATTACK SHARK X82 PRO HE, so I will be comparing this one to those. The packaging kind of concerned me, because I thought it would come in an amazon box, but it just came on its own box ( see pics) It concerned me because it was sitting on snow lol. It doesnt matter now since it didnt get damaged anyway.I love that it came with a wire that is off angle, so it can match the plug at the left side. The keyboard looks very good in my opinion. The rapid trigger works very well. I personally dont use the "snap tap" type of feature, so I cant speak on that. The volume knob also works very well (ive had some keyboards where it malfunctions when you spin/scroll it too fast, but this one doesnt. The mute click is also kinda satisfying. The keyboard also sounds surprisingly good. It has a poppy sound and not hollow, the spacebar also has a good stabilizer. Unfortunately, I cant provide a sound test video, because I dont have a good mic. It sounds and feels a lot better than my ATTACK SHARK X82 PRO HE, but definitely not as good as some of my other keyboards that are modded. As for the RGB, it is very bright, so you will enjoy it (assuming that you bought it because of that. The only thing I wish this had was wireless compatibility, but at this price point, you cant really expect that much. Thanks for reading my review. Hope it was helpful.

This is a really impressive keyboard. It feels solid and sounds fantastic. While it has some heft, it’s lighter than my Epomaker TH80 Pro, yet still feels sturdy with minimal flex. The keys produce a satisfying sound, and the board doesn’t have that hollow resonance you sometimes find in other models. The space bar is especially well-tuned—no distracting ping or springiness. The volume knob is excellent, far superior to the one on my Epomaker, which struggles with fast turns. This knob registers every adjustment smoothly. My only minor gripe is the cable; I would have preferred a braided one, but the included rubber cable is angled nicely and stays out of the way.The rapid key feature is a standout for gaming. As someone who plays competitive FPS titles, this was a major selling point, and it performs flawlessly. I didn’t need to install any drivers or software—the out-of-the-box configuration works perfectly for my needs. Overall, this keyboard delivers great sound, performance, and build quality.

This keyboard is definitely one of attack sharks better models which is complemented by the unique green aesthetic. I've owned a few attack shark keyboards before and most of the time there are ultra budget small keyboards, but in this case you're charged a little bit more than usual, but at the same time they give you a much bigger keyboard with a more intricate striking design, better materials, and better switches resulting in a far better experience especially since their keyboards usually go down in price pretty quickly so it should be a good deal even now. First and foremost it's a hall effect keyboard so like every other hall effect keyboard the actuation distance of the keys can be adjusted for competitive gaming and there are a ton of advanced options that can be configured for macros and certain keyboard characteristics that suits your preferences. The keyboard of course is all plastic it's wired so no battery to worry about and luckily this time around they used a metal positioning plate for the keys which gives the keyboard a good amount of heft, dampens the noise to give it a more pleasing deep sound, and makes the keyboard a lot more rigid than they're cheaper offerings. Speaking of design there are now quite a few manufacturers that are making keyboards with light bars on top of them and though it makes them a lot more flashy I'm all for it in this case you can customize the RGB LEDs in the light bar alongside the south facing LEDs underneath each key giving you a ton of customizability to make a visually loud keyboard even louder or of course you can turn it off to mute it. A great inclusion is the horizontally mounted metal volume knob which can be clicked into mute and of course you can scroll it up and down to adjust volume and they've done a really good job with it as it feels very sturdy doesn't have any play and has a really nice premium finish. Overall if you're looking for a fully featured good looking hell effect keyboard for a more than reasonable price then I would highly recommend this keyboard, it come in a ton of options in terms of design so if the green isn't your taste there are more plain black, white, and gradient versions that you can pick from, but the base of the keyboard is solid and because it doesn't have any wireless functionality it does limit it a bit, but it also means that you don't need to worry about the battery dying on you or the settings you pick for the lighting causing it to drain too quickly. As a side note for some reason the logo on my keyboard came upside down so I guess they shook the shark too much in delivery and it arrived dead, but otherwise everything else is great.
